Rally Report
Although we return to this site every year we find that it is convenient, and, providing the weather is kind to us we can have a leisurely gathering with minimal formality.
Neil and Mandy brought Leo (golden Labrador pup) for his first caravan rally and we thoroughly enjoyed watching his antics, never ending energy with a ball. Titan tried to keep up and got really excited chasing behind Leo which we all found amusing. Not bad for a Sheltie.
This year there were 8 outfits attending, fewer each year sadly so if you spot a Polar on your travels please try and contact the owner and advise them of the club, but we are doing our best to make it a special time to catch up with friends and we would welcome any Polar owners who can make the trip. This is why we hold the rally as centrally as possible.

It is always nice to stroll round Newark on Trent, it is such an historic town, with some interesting shops and a huge market square for the frequent markets that are held.
This year breaking with tradition, although we shared a Chinese meal together in Stan’s gazebo which we were able to make quite cozy, we held the AGM meeting just before, so as to leave Sunday clear for a change, and because Neil and Mandy had to leave us early.
As usual the ladies set to and did a magnificent job of providing us with desserts.
It seemed to work quite well and may become a fixture.
This left Sunday free for a lie-in and a walk round the lakes before a group of us going to the Fox at Kelham for lunch.
We were pleased to find a superb Victorian Pumping station to visit on Monday, where as it was a Bank Holiday they had fired up the boilers to provide a glimpse of the great pumps working as they used to do. Those Victorians knew a thing or two about engines.
It was a magnificent sight to see those huge beam engines working as smoothly as the day they were fitted.
There were plenty of volunteers to enthuse us and explain how these big pumps used to supply water to Coventry.
The pumping station alone was a testament to Victorian architecture, nothing plain here, it was all embellished and decorated.
So we returned to site, promising ourselves that we would go back next year.
Tuesday saw us all packing up and making our way home, AGM over for another year, hope to see you all next year
